Made with clay slabs and the help of a mold. After making the peices I painted them with white underglaze. After the first firing the glaze was applied and the dishes were fired again. After the last firing the sealer was applied.
Material:
Made of red earthenware clay. This clay is my favorite because of the vivid tones it creates. The underglaze is developed by testing and adjusting several recipes to make one that is durable used in combination with this clay.
The coating on the unglazed parts makes the plates water and oil resistant and it can easily be cleaned.
I try to be as environmental-friendly in my production process as possible. That's why I use clay that can be fired at a a relatively low temperature. In addition the coating often makes it possible to load the kiln with more works at once. I also started to make these small dishes to fill the kiln as efficient as possible.
This item will last the longest if you clean it immediately after use and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. You can clean it with water and dish soap. Please handwash.

The complete making process is in my hands and a lot of the used materials and techniques are my own recipes and techniques.
Imperfections enhance the unique character of the object.
